About Ben

n August of 2005 we lost our son, grandson, brother, husband and best friend to heart disease. While we all miss Ben dearly and think of him often, we also honor his life by creating this memorial to help fight the disease that took him from all of us at the early age of 28. At the forefront of this project are Ben’s friends (you guys know who you are) who have initiated the Annual Ben Hinger Memorial Golf Tournament as a way to help keep Ben’s spirit alive as well as provide a vehicle to raise funds to fight heart disease. We are honored to be a part of this worthwhile endeavor. Ben would have been proud of all of you – as are we. You will always be a part of our family.

Ben was the friend you could always depend on, no matter the situation.  He was the first to lend a hand and the last to leave.  Ben was blessed with the personality that every parent wishes their kids will develop.  He was caring, charismatic, loyal, honest, and extremely funny.  He made any get together brighter and more energetic, and had a contagious positive outlook on life.  Ben gave 110% towards everything he did in life, whether it was being a husband, friend, teammate, coworker, or boss.  More than anything, Ben was an extremely loving person who didn’t have to say it to express it.

Unfortunately too often in life, we don’t express how we feel towards family & friends until it is too late to say it face to face.  It is easy to see the lasting positive affect Ben had on so many lives and how lucky we all were to know him and share parts of his life.  He is dearly missed, but never forgotten.  His legacy lives on and it is only fitting that the person we all knew to be the first to lend a helping hand in life is still helping others after his life on earth has ended.  We love and miss you Ben and will always hold a special place in our hearts for you until the day we meet again.  Thanks for being the person you were and touching all our lives in such a wonderful way.

Our Donations

American Heart Association

he Ben Hinger Memorial Golf Scramble was created to raise money for the American Heart Association to help treat and detect heart disease. Ben passed due to undetected heart-disease, and by raising money in his name through this golf scramble, hopefully we can help further research towards detecting and treating heart disease to prevent others from losing their lives to this disease.

We have been fortunate enough to raise just under $30,000 in 7 years through generous donations from all our sponsors! We really feel we can make a difference and want to thank everyone who is helping make this happen through support and sponsorship! Ben was always to first to lend a helping hand when it was needed, and it is so fitting that he is still making a difference today!

You can also view Ben’s tribute page on the American Heart Association’s website by clicking on the following link for the American Heart Association . Once on the site, click on the “Donate” tab at the top, then click on “Find or Create a Personalized Memorial or Tribute Website”, then click on “Find a Memorial or Tribute Page”, then search by name for Benjamin Hinger.

Thanks again to all the support and sponsorship!
